The joint candidate for President of the opposition Maia Sandu considers the Head of State will be elected in the runoff vote. She thanked the people who took part in the elections and invited them to the runoff elections. She made such statements after the polling places established in the country were closed, IPN reports.
“The people decided to transmit a clear signal. Today’s vote means that the people want a change. I thank the women who voted in a large number. I’m honored that you listened to my call and, probably, not only mine. I thank also those from the diaspora because you had to make a considerable effort to go and vote,” stated Maia Sandu.
The candidate noted that few young people cast their ballots and this is probably because the authorities placed impediments in front of them. “In the runoff vote, I promise we will do our best for these impediments to be eliminated,” she stated.
In the program “In Depth” on Pro TV channel, the politician said that if she wins the presidential elections, she will openly cooperate with the government. Maia Sandu said the President has enough instruments to oblige the government to fulfill the commitments assumed before the people.
