Independent candidate for President Maia Laguta voted against all the lies told during the 25 years of the declaration of independence and for improving the living conditions in the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

Maia Laguta said she voted for Moldova to raise its flag up on the world arena. “I voted for Moldova to soon reach the development level of Norway at least. I voted for all the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to be proud of their country and for the living standards to be improved so that all the Moldovans feel comfortable at home and love their country,” she stated.

According to the candidate, the President has very big power. He is the guarantor of the sovereignty and power of the people. By the direct election of the Head of State, the Moldovans have the chance of choosing the President who would make the state institutions work for the interests of the people, not of criminal and financial groups or parties.

At the polling place where she voted, Maia Laguta brought an application from a person confined to bed whereby this asked for the mobile ballot box. The members of the electoral office refused initially to accept it for the reason that the application wasn’t accompanied by a medical certificate, as it is required on the election day. Ultimately, these accepted the application without explaining their decision.
