Ten million lei will be allocated this year from the budget to award the State Prize for science, art and economy. The candidates will exhibit their works at an exhibition at Moldexpo center from June 19 to 21 this year, Info-Prim Neo reports. The chairman of the National Commission of awarding the state prize (NCASP), Gheorghe Mustea, a told a news conference on Monday that the works having reached the final stage of the contest had a considerable impact on the technical-economic and social development of the country. 34 works have been put up for the contest, as the NCASP selected 15. According to the organizers, each work will have two reviews by national and international experts. They are to be presented till June 25. Then, the NCASP will vote for each work secretly. They will take into account the contribution that the work can bring to the Moldovan society. The state prize is awarded once in two years. They award 10 prizes: 5 – for science, 2 – for technic and 3 – for culture and architecture. This year the prize will be 1 million, specified Lilia Salii from the NCASP secretariat. If the works are signed by a group of authors, not more than 10 persons, the money will be shared among them. The visitors of the exhibition will be able to talk with the authors and to write down their remarks in a special register to be taken into account by the NCASP. The State Prize will be awarded on August 27. The National NCASP was set up on October 23, 2007. Its members are 5 representatives of the Government, 5 representatives of the Science Academy and 5 representatives of the civil society.
