Last nine school buses purchased with Romania’s support distributed in districts

The last nine school buses, out of the 69 bought with support from the Romanian Government, were distributed on Friday by the Ministry of Education and Research. The buses will reach schools in the districts of Briceni, Causeni, Criuleni, Floresti, Ocnita, Rezina, Soroca, Stefan-Voda and Comrat, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Education, the units of transport are equipped with an electronic stability control system, air conditioning system and an up/down step for children. The buses have 17 seats each and comply with European standards.

The buses were purchased with funds from the €100 million in non-reimbursable financial assistance offered by the Romanian Government. The entire batch includes 69 school buses, of which 40 were distributed in August, and another 20 in October this year.

In 2014, the Government of Romania made a donation of 100 minibuses for transporting Moldovan students. In 2017, another 95 transport units purchased with Romania’s support were delivered to the Republic of Moldova.
