Two kiosks were set up on Dacia Blvd. and on Sarmizegetusa St in Chisinau’s Botanica district even if the municipality banned the placement of new kiosks or the relocation of the old ones half a year ago. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Valentina Constantinov, deputy head of the General Division of Trade, Public Food and Services, said that the two kiosks hadn’t been issued with authorizations for work, but the municipal services do not have instruments to intervene in such cases. The responsibility is borne by district head’s offices that must order the owners to take them down. Otherwise, the stalls are taken away by force. Head of Botanica district Vladimir Guritsenko said that after the mayor imposed the ban there were issued no authorizations. When somebody informs the district head’s office about the appearance of new kiosks, the competent services demolish the construction without consulting the person who put it up illegally. They have to take away 21 stalls, but do not manage to hasten the works as the workers were involved in snow removal. The placement of new kiosks was banned on July 9, 2012. Currently, there are about 4,200 stalls that hold authorizations in Chisinau. 2,200 of them are situated in the city’s markets.
