Italy earthquake: over 100 reported dead

According to a new report of the rescuing services, over 100 people are reported dead after the last night earthquake, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from La Repubblica's web page. 1,500 are injured, as over 50,000 have been evacuated. Tens of damaged houses keep ruining in the capital of the region Abruzzo from central Italy (Aquila city), where the epicenter of the tremor was. It had a magnitude of 6.3 degrees on the Richter scale. Fearing to lose their belongings, many are reluctant to leave their houses hit by the quake. The president of Aquila region, Stefania Pezzopane, has reported cases of marauding. Premier Silvio Berlusconi has visited the devastated area and has convened an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet later on Monday, to decide on allocating funds for rescue operations and eliminating the aftereffects of the tremor. When asked by Info-Prim Neo, Moldova's consul to Italy, Ion Surugiu, has said there are no Moldovan citizens reported among the victims so far.
