The Center for Information and Documentation on Child Rights has launched an interactive application called “Dragos’ challenges”. Through this application-game, the children can learn to recognize different forms of abuse and to find out how they should behave in risky situations, IPN reports.
The Center said the game also helps the children identify reliable persons from whom they can seek help when they are in danger, such as the parent, educator, teacher, school psychologist, social worker, doctor or police officer. The application is also useful for parents and teachers when discussing delicate subjects with children. “Dragos’ challenges” is intended for children aged between 7 and 12. It is available free on the Center’s website http://www.childrights.md/dragos/.
The application was designed in reaction to the multiple cases of held abuses reported in Moldova, where violence is accepted and widespread because it is not perceived as an abuse and those affected cannot recognize and report it.
The application was developed within the program “Promotion of positive parental discipline practices” that is implemented by the Center for Information and Documentation on Child Rights with support from the Ministry of Education and the UNICEF Country Office in Moldova.
