Institutionalized children make impression at sale-exhibition in Chisinau

Institutionalized children impressed at a sale-exhibition mounted in the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral and in the central park “Stephan the Great” last weekend. The exhibited works were made by about 100 children from placement centers managed by the Municipal Division for Child Rights Protection.

“The works were very beautiful. We didn’t expect it. The exhibits included national greeting cards, eggs from pearls, support for eggs and other objects. Every year there is made something new. The children sold all the works. What is important is not how much money they gained, but that they are proud of the works that were sold,” the Division’s head Svetlana Chifa has told IPN.

A number of events to sensitize the people to the problems of children who are under the Division’s supervision were held last week. For the first time since such events were organized, the Moldovans working abroad gathered money and bought candies and Easter bread for 33 children from Moldova.
