The candidate for the office of President of Moldova on behalf of the Shor Party Inna Popenko promises to extend the chain of social stores opened by the party. On October 20, one more shop intended for elderly people, persons with disabilities and veterans will be opened in Orhei town. The candidate made the announcement in a press briefing, IPN reports.
In social stores, the elderly people, veterans and persons with disabilities can purchase food products at lower prices than those at the market, based on special social cards. The cards will be issued by special points whose location will be made known later. “The loaf of bread of 2 lei is not an invention, but a reality. The social stores will sell high-quality bread and other tens of kinds of food products,” stated Inna Popenko.
According to her, these shops work not to make profit, but to help the persons with low incomes. Two more such stores will be opened in Ceadar-Lunga town and in Chisinau before the October 30 presidential elections. The first mobile social store will start work in Ivancea village of Orhei district. Such a practice will be soon extended to cover the whole country.
“It is our duty to open social stores for elderly persons and veterans,” stated Inna Popenko.
Three social stores have been opened in Orhei town so far. According to the party’s program, over 100 such stores will be set up all over Moldova during the next two years.
