The Party of Socialists’ candidate for President Igor Dodon said that as Head of State he will struggle to protect the statehood, integrity and neutrality of the Republic of Moldova. The politician presented one of the three main points of this election program, IPN reports.
The Socialist leader said the unionists have become more active, being supported even by the foreign partners that, de facto, should respect the sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova. “We see that those who plead for the liquidation of the Republic of Moldova are in Parliament and filled the capital city with posters,” he stated.
Igor Dodon noted that as President, he will take all the necessary measures to ban any type of unionist manifestation in Moldova. He will also propose a legislative initiative to introduce the History of Moldova in schools.
The politician promised that if he becomes Head of State, he will change the composition of the Supreme Security Council as this must include real patriots of the Republic of Moldova.
He is against state officials holding the nationality of another state and thus intends to ban this.
The candidate for the office of President added that the Republic of Moldova is a neutral state and he will never allow soldiers or tanks of a NATO member state to come here and will plead for banning the presence of foreign troops in the country, without specifying if he refers also to the Russian troops from the Transnistrian region.
The politician gave his presentation without answering journalists’ questions.
