A motorists from Causeni district who struck fatally by car a pedestrian and didn’t stop to help was arrested. Press officer of the National Patrolling Inspectorate Natalia Golovko has told IPN that it is not yet known if driver was under the influence of alcohol or not.

The accident happened in the evening of November 15. The patrolling team was alerted by a young man, who said that the body of a man was lying by the roadside on Alba Iulia St in Causeni town. The pedestrian was a man aged 37 from Tanatari village. The police found a headlamp of the car involved in the accident at the scene.

Shortly afterward, patrolling inspectors identified and arrested the suspected driver. This is a man aged 23 from Causeni district. He told the police that he left the scene of the accident for fear and took the car in for service.
