A man was attacked last night in front of his house in Botanica district of the capital city by an individual who fired a gun. According to press reports, the target was former athlete Ion Șoltoianu. However, the police did not confirm this information, IPN reports.

The General Police Inspectorate noted that the case was reported to the emergency number 112 shortly after midnight. The man informed that an individual fired a shot in his direction and ran away. It happened in front of his house.

"An investigation group was constituted and this is considering a number of versions. The recordings of video cameras situated nearby are also examined in order to establish the exact circumstances," said the Inspectorate.
