Two police officers, a student and an ex-employee of the Police Academy “Stefan cel Mare” of the Ministry of the Interior were arrested for 72 hours on suspicion of corruption in three criminal cases. Another two suspects are investigated outside prison, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of the Interior, the suspects, saying that they have influence on decision-makers of a number of subdivisions of the Ministry, including the Police Academy “Stefan cel Mare”, asked and received money from a number of persons for facilitating the employment of some of them at the General Police Inspectorate and for being admitted to the Academy.
The documentation operation lasted for six months. There were started three criminal cases over influence peddling, passive corruption and active corruption.
On December 21, police officers carried out simultaneously 15 searches in the cars, homes and offices of the suspects in Briceni, Falesti and Chisinau municipality. There were seized computers, mobile phones and other things relevant to the examined cases.
