The first issue of postage stamps this year, released recently by Moldova Mail, is dedicated to the 90th birth anniversary of the famous theater and cinema actress Domnica Darienco, Info-Prim Neo reports. The issue is launched in 50,000 copies. Domnica Darienco is a theater and film actress born on 15 January 1919, in an Odessa village, once part of Moldova. She played more than in 100 roles, and was especially good at strong characters. In 1989, she retired at the age of 70. She was married to a man who fell in combat in the WWII when their son was just one and a half year old. On her 90th anniversary, Domnica Darienco was awarded the Grigore Ureche Prize for 2008, the highest honor of the Theatrical Union of Moldova.
