The public has chosen the first seven semifinalists of the national Eurovision contest on March 12. They will compete in the contest’s final on March 16. The winner will represent Moldova at Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden. The first semifinal was compèred by singer Catalin Josan and “Moldova 1” presenter Evelina Virlan. The semifinal was opened by the special invitee Pasha Parfeni and closed by the band “Zdob si Zdub”, Info-Prim Neo reports. The first seven semifinalists are: Boris Covali with the song “Runaways”; Aliona Moon with “A million”; Doinita Gherman with “Planet is heaven”; Vitalie Negruta with “You’ll be mine”; Felicia Dunaf with “Codename Felice”; Cristina V & Glam Girls with “Celebrate”, and Svetlana Bogdanova with “Conquer My Heart”. The jury consisted of eight members, including Nicu Tarna, Geta Burlacu, Nelly Ciobanu, Tatiana Cerga, and Dorel Burlacu. Twelve singers will compete in the second semifinal on March 14. Moldova’s representative at Eurovision last year - Pasha Parfeni – ranked 11th. This year, the contest will take place in Malmo, Sweden.
