A Christmas Fair set up in Vasile Lupu Square of Orhei town will be inaugurated on December 22. A skating rink will be simultaneously opened there. The visitors will be able to listen to carols sung by Santa Claus’ brass band. Singer Natalia Gordienko will give a performance, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the Orhei mayor’s office, the Christmas Fair will be opened at 5pm, after Mayor Ilan Shor cuts the symbolical ribbon of the holiday town. The residents and guests of the town are invited to do the shopping and to take part in tasting and recreational events.

The skating rink will function during the period of the Christmas Fair, daily between 3pm and 10pm, while on the weekend – between 12 noon and 11pm. Tickets cost 10 lei.

The organizers said that every evening starting at 5pm, Santa Claus will be waiting for children at his house built up in the square. His assistants will give handicraft lessons to the children.

The Christmas Fair in Orhei will continue until January 10. In the period, a number of Moldovan singers will hold concerts in Vasile Lupu Square. The concert on New Year’s Eve will involve DJ Kirilloff, Brio Sonores, Natalia Barbu, Marcel and Kornelia Stefanet, Doinita Gherman, Irina and Anatol Bivol, Natalia Gordienko and the band “Zdob si Zdub”.
