Fiodor Ghelici: Former government caused damage to the image of Moldova in international arena

Activist Fiodor Ghelici, official representative in the Republic of Moldova of the International Intergovernmental Organization for Educational Development (IOED), headquartered in India, claims that the former government led by Maia Sandu caused significant damage to the image of Moldova in the international arena.

At an IPN press conference, Fiodor Ghelici, said that last year, after long negotiations with the Filip Government, an agreement of collaboration of the executive with IOED was signed. When Maia Sandu became prime minister, no attention was paid to the relation with the mentioned organization. Fiodor Ghelici maintains that for five months, he has been sending numerous requests to the prime minister and the ministers, asking to grant the IOED representatives audience in order to discuss the implementation of important socio-economic projects for the country, but in vain.

Fiodor Ghelici has expressed his hope that the Chicu Government has people "interested in the socio-economic development of Moldova and the integration of the country into the international community". According to Fiodor Ghelici, the Indian partners could bring significant investments in Moldova.

Nicolae Parcevschi, representative the International Organization for Educational Development in Romania, states that India is a trustworthy strategic partner, capable of maintaining long-lasting and efficient relations. "The fact that India is open to Moldova and Romania is a head start for these countries. It is unfortunate that state thinking in the Republic of Moldova has suffered a collapse as regards the collaboration with IOED,” he emphasized. Nicolae Parcevschi has suggested to the new Moldovan government not to repeat the mistakes made by the Sandu Government.

Further Vitalii Cuțchi, another representative of the International Organization for Educational Development, regretted that, in five months, the Sandu Government did not pay attention to the cooperation with this organization and expressed the hope that the new executive would show interest in the social and economic development of the Republic of Moldova and the welfare of the people of this country.
