More than 9,000 deportees and political prisoners will receive by 700 lei in assistance in connection with the commutation of the mass deportations from Moldova, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family said more than 6.5 million lei will be allocated from the state budget for the purpose. The financial support will be distributed by July 6.

The money will become available on July 1. Those entitled to financial assistance from the municipality of Chisinau can receive the money at the branches of Moldindconbank, while those from the rest of the country – at the branches of Banca de Economii or at post offices, after presenting the identity card.

On July 6, it is marked the second wave of deportations of 1949, which is considered the greatest. It is known as the operation “South”.
