The agricultural producers will be able to place water intakes and mobile installations on riparian buffer strips for irrigation purposes. A number of documents needed for obtaining an irrigation environmental authorization will be excluded. This is provided in a bill that was adopted by the MPs after giving it a final reading, IPN reports.
Under the bill, if centralized irrigation systems work near riparian buffer strips, water pumps for irrigation could not be installed. In this case, the users will irrigate through the agency of centralized irrigation systems.
The bill proposes fines of up to 3,000 lei for private individuals and of up to 25,000 lei for legal entities for hampering the access of other water users to the placing and use of water intakes and mobile installations. Similar fines will be imposed on owners of accumulation lakes or ponds who do not have own regulations concerning the exploitation of water resources and those who discharge water for piscicultural technological purposes.
