The European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM) plans to hold the party founding congress on July 26. In a press release, quoted by IPN, the party says that in the period until the congress, the local political councils are to analyze the proposed constitution documents so as to make recommendations for modifying them. These documents will be soon available at www.ppe.md for broad discussion with members and sympathizers.
The final goal is to create a center-right party based on a conservative doctrine, with authentic internal democracy, so that the new political organization is able to promote an ambitious, but realistic program for developing the whole country based on the European model.
Over the next three weeks, there will be held conferences to set up the district and municipal organizations of the future party in about 20 districts and in the municipality of Chisinau. Last weekend, there were constituted the PPEM’s local organizations in Cimislia, Ialoveni, Balti, and Nisporeni.
The founding congress of July 26 will adopt the statutes and political program of the future party, will elect the national executive bodies and will decide the main activities of the PPEM for the immediate period.
