The Ministry of Education has transferred 32 million lei to district administrations for renting school buses where they are absent, IPN reports.

Deputy Minister of Education Igor Grosu told a news conference that the transportation of children to schools in the neighboring villages is the responsibility of the local public administration, not of the ministry.

In the districts where there are enough units of transport of those purchased by the Ministry of Education, these buses will continue to be used. Where there are no buses and they are in an insufficient number, the necessary units of transport will be rented or bought by the district authorities with their own money, said the official.
