The deputy mayor of Rascani town was caught driving under the influence within the “Zero Degrees” operation carried out by the National Patrolling Inspectorate in the districts of Rascani, Donduseni, Drochia, Soroca and Floresti, IPN reports.

National Patrolling Inspectorate press officer Sabina Cojusnean said the breath test given to the deputy mayor showed the content of alcohol in the exhaled air was 0.17 mg/l, at a time when the admissible limit is 0.15 mg/l.

During the operation, there were identified ten persons who were driving under the influence of alcohol. The police imposed fines of 5,000 to 10,000 lei. Some of the motorists were deprived of the driver’s license.
