The Chisinau residents’ debts for water total 400 million lei. The difference in the consumed volume of water indicated on the meter and the losses of water inside apartment buildings represent the largest part of this sum. SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” urges all the consumers of water to pay the bills on time, IPN reports.
In a communiqué, the water supplier says that it is a commercial organization that works based on the volume of water supplied and the level of payments. When the necessary money is not collected into accounts, the company is unable to pay for the services provided to it by other suppliers. Thus, it faces the risk of being disconnected from the givens services and thus stopping work.
The communiqué also says that most of the consumers remember that they have to pay bills only after the supplier starts to disconnect the house from the municipal aqueduct. The disconnections follow several attempts made to negotiate and cooperate with persons who manage the blocks.
According to “Apa-Canal Chisinau”, the recovery of debts through court implies the payment of additional sums as state taxes and court costs by the housing stock managers. Almost all the cases are won by the supplier.
The company says that some of the managers resort to stratagems and schemes, including involving the dwellers and members of political parties and public associations in illegal actions of blackmailing the supplier, such as blocking of streets, picketing of the Chisinau City Hall and the head office of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau”, and misinformation through the mass media. The supplier insistently demands abandoning such practices.
