Cricova mayor’s office invites to town’s day

The Cricova mayor’s office invites to the cultural events that will be staged on the occasion of the town’s day on May 22. On this occasion, Cricova will be visited by a number of foreign delegations.

Mayor of Cricova Valentin Gutan has told IPN that they are waiting for delegations from towns of Italy, Romania, and Ukraine with which Cricova has relations of friendship. The official part of the holiday will center on the meeting of the delegations with members of the town council, while the unofficial part on dancing and singing activities in the center of the town.

The mayor said the residents and guests of the town will be invited to the great Romanian round dance and the fight for winning a ram and a rooster that are traditionally held in the central part of the town. Performances will be given by the folk music orchestra managed by Petre Ungureanu, the dances ensemble “Veselia”, the pop music band “Las Vegas”, and the ethno-folkloric ensemble of the Osoianu sisters.

Writers Gheorghe Balici, Ludmila Varlam-Turcu and Ion Deviza will also take part in the events. Companies and institutions working in Cricova will mount an exhibition. The holiday will end with fireworks.
