The composition of the council for the prevention and elimination of discrimination and ensuring of equality is now complete. On June 6, the legislative body confirmed the last three candidates selected by the special commission to work on the council, IPN reports.

Andrei Brighidin, Lucia Gavrilita and Ian Feldman became members of the council alongside Doina Ioana Straisteanu and Oxana Gumennaia, who were appointed earlier.

The council was to start work in January. The five members were chosen at two public contests. The council’s main tasks are to inform the people about the Law on Equality of Chances and to carry out activities aimed at preventing and combating discrimination.
