The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service provided details about the explosion that rocked an apartment located on Mircea cel Batran Blvd. in Ciocana district of Chisinau this morning. According to the latest information, the blast happened at the third floor and affected an area of 50 square meters. A boy aged 17, who was in the apartment, was hospitalized, IPN reports.

The firefighters were called at 10.19. A firefighting vehicle was on the spot immediately. Employees of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service are examining the scene to determine the cause of explosion.

Earlier, the spokesman for the National Emergency Medicine Center Petru Cravet said the young man was admitted to the National Children’s Hospital “Emilian Cotaga”. He suffered sever brain injury and burns and his reparatory system was affected.
