Inhabitants of 21 villages and towns of Moldova watched a series of documentaries that were screened within the Documentary Film Festival “Chronograph”. The cinematographic tour “Chronograph Tour” summed up the results and presented for the first time the tour’s making-of. The film represents a collection of impressions, emotions and images from each community that housed the tour, IPN reports.
The second “Chronograph Tur” began in Straseni on July 10 and continued in other villages and towns in northern, central and southern Moldova. The program included a selection of documentaries from the twelfth Festival “Chronograph” and fiction films provided by the European program EUNIC.
“Forming part of the commission for the selection of cultural events, we were conquered by the idea of a tour of the country under the aegis of the Festival “Cronograph”. The tour offered the public the possibility of going out to see a film. The screened films were a premiere for most of the children and young people, while for the elderly people there were a new meeting with the cinematographer,” said Natalia Cernat, communication coordinator of the Swiss Cooperation Office.
The tour end-up evening included an absolute premier for Moldova – the Ukrainian film “The Guide” made by Oles Sanin. This is a historical drama based on real events. “We end the “Chronograph Tour” in Chisinau with a very good film that will make us think a lot,” said the festivals’ director Virgiliu Margineanu.
The EUNIC program in Chisinau was launched within the end-up evening. This represents a European partnership of national cultural institutions that invest in transnational cultural projects, benefitting also from a certain degree of autonomy from the governments of the states they represent.
