The voters not having residence visas in Chisinau can apply to register to vote to the district offices in weekends, too, Info-Prim Neo reports. Later in 2008, the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced that the people, who changed their address, can register to vote at preturas. The voters should sign a statement till February 18, 17.00, and they will be registered on the voters lists. “We get applications from citizens from different districts. There is no restriction, anyone can sign the application, without being asked if they have residence visas in Chisinau,” said Adrian Talmaci, the secretary of the Rascani district office. Asked by the agency, public servants from other preturas in Chisinau have said each district office received an average of 70 applications. “It's a small number compared to the number of residents of the sector. We have spread the information everywhere, but few voters came to register,” said Liuba Gafin from the Centru sector office. The citizens, who will not be within their constituency on the voting day, should apply for certificates from the election bureau, 10 days before the election. According to Eugenia Busila from the Botanica district office, this certificate will enabled them to vote at any polling station they want, and will be included into additional lists. The parliamentary elections will be held in Moldova on April 5, 2009.
