The Government of Moldova resumed the discussions on the operation of children suffering from cancer with the authorities of Luxemburg. The children were to go to Luxemburg at the end of last June, based on an agreement between Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and the then mayor of Luxemburg Xavier Bettel.
In the response to an enquiry by IPN Agency, the Government’s press service said the agreement is still valid, but things were delayed owing to the early elections in which Luxemburg was involved, after which Xavier Bettel was elected as Prime Minister.
The Luxembourgian side will send a group of doctors to Chisinau. Director of the Oncology Institute Victor Cernat said that eight children have been selected for receiving treatment in Luxemburg. Four of them have different forms of blood cancer, while the other four have solid tumors.
