The Central Election Commission (CEC) approved the final position of the 12 candidates for President and the model of the ballot for the October 30 presidential elections, IPN reports.
The first eight positions are taken by: Marian Lupu (PDM), Mihai Ghimpu (PL), Iurie Leanca (PPEM), Andrei Nastase (PPPDA), Inna Popenko (Ravnopravie /Shor Party), Dumitru Chubashenko (PPPN), Maia Sandu (PAS), and Igor Dodon (PSRM). As four aspirants weren’t registered as election runners because they didn’t collect the necessary number of signatures in their favor, the next positions will be occupied by Silvia Radu (independent), Maia Laguta (independent), Ana Gutu (“The Right” Party) sand Valeriu Giletski (independent).
Candidate Inna Popenko asked that her distinctive sign should be modified. Thus, the CEC decided that a quadrilateral with the words “Shor Party”, into which the Movement “Ravnopravie” was renamed, will appear against the candidate’s name.
The ballot for the October 30 presidential elections will be 348 millimeters long. The names of the electoral competitors will be written with capital letters, in the agreed order.
