The Audiovisual Coordinating Council (CCA) selected 18 candidates for the function of the Teleradio-Moldova (TRM) Supervisory Board (CO) members, on Friday, December 15. Those 18 candidates are: Maria Harbu, Dumitru Tara, Corina Fusu, Andrei Popovici, Victoria Musteata, Iuliana Bordeianu, Anatol Dubrovschi, Igor Munteanu, Boris Focsa, Victoria Sarbu, Viorel Cibotaru, Andrei Porubin, Mariana Slopac, Paul Strutzescu, Alexandru Burean, Boris Bechet, Veaceslav Ionita and Ludmila Barbus. Of these, only two gained the maximum number of votes (9) – Corina Fusu and Veaceslav Ionita. Those 18 candidates have been selected from a total number of 24, who were elected by CCA on December 13. Their files will be forwarded to the specialized parliamentary standing committee which is to assign 9 members of the CO. Corneliu Mihalache, the chairman of the CCA, stated that the CO should be a body which would reach consensual decisions oriented towards the modernization and the revitalization of the company, because, as he asserts “TRM is in a very difficult situation”. Initially, 3 members of the CO will be appointed for a 2-year mandate, 3 for a 3-year mandate, and 3 for a 4-year mandate. Among the competences of the CO is that of confirming the head of the TRM and the directors of national TV and radio stations, approving the Company’s statute and its work agenda and others.
