On the National Wine Day, the Top Prize for special merits in wine industry will be conferred on the company Castel Mimi, IPN reports, quoting a Government decision.
Castel Mimi is a private company that forms part of the Codru Delimited Geographical Region. It has made consistent and sustainable effort to modernize production, increase the quality of its wines and diversify markets.
Castel Mimi possesses 30 hectares of vineyards and a wine factory. It invested in the reconstruction of the castle of Bessarabian politician and winemaker Constantin Mimi. The castle was recently reopened to visitors and has all the chances of becoming an attractive tourist destination.
In 2015 the company made a profit of 11 million lei. 85% of its production is exported.
The company was chosen as a winner by a commission constituted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
