The head of the Chisinau Public Transport and Communications Division Adrian Boldurescu was discharged based on his resignation. The information was confirmed by Vadim Brânzaniuc, the head of the Chisinau City Hall’s Public Relations Division. Igor Gamretski will hold the post on an interim basis, IPN reports.
According to municipal councilors, the dismissal of Boldurescu may be political in character as he is the son-in-law of Deputy Minister of Agriculture Stefan Chitoroaga, who forms part of the Council for Reforming the Liberal Party (PL).
They say that Igor Gamretski was a classmate of Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca, who is the first deputy chairman of the Liberal Party. When the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu occupied senior state posts, Gambrtski was an employee of the State Chancellery.
The split in the PL occurred in the middle of April, when a group of Liberal MPs and other party activities announced the creation of the Council for Reforming the Liberal Party and demanded that Mihai Ghimpu leaves the position of party leader.
