After over two hours, the dead body of the worker over whom a mound of earth fell at a building site on Grigore Vieru Blvd in Chisinau this afternoon was recovered, IPN reports.

Press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan said the rescuers worked with difficulty because the earth continued to fall and the banks had to be reinforced. The body was found at a depth of about seven meters.

The 49-year-old man worked at a private company. According to the press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Adrian Jovmir, the man worked legally and had a work contract.

The rescuers were called at about 1:15pm. A rescue team and a SMURD team travelled to the scene. The man was already dead.
