The home of the head of Causeni district Ion Ciontoloi was attacked by several individuals last night. The individuals threw three bottles with an explosive in the direction of the house.

Contacted by IPN, Mariana Betivu, press officer of the General Police Inspectorate, said that the Causeni Police Inspectorate was informed about an attack on the district head’s house at 2:30am.

One of the thrown bottles broke against the roof, but didn’t cause an explosion. Nobody was hurt.

An investigation is underway to identify the culprits who face up to six years in jail.

The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) issued a communiqué, voicing hope that the persons who attacked the house of the head of Causeni district Ion Ciontoloi, who is a member of this party, will be identified and punished in accordance with the law. The party is waiting for the conclusion of the investigation bodies and asks refraining from speculative interpretations until then. The PLDM dissociates itself from the personal political comments stated on this case, which it describes as regrettable.
