AN-26 crewmembers were buried in Chisinau on Tuesday

The bodies of the crewmembers of AN-26 aircraft, which crashed in Iraq on January 9, were buried in Chisinau on Tuesday, January 9, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the sources of State Civil Aviation Authority (ASAC), the five citizens of Moldova, Captain Anatol Sheflediuc, copilot Sergiu Mashtelear, flight engineers Alexei Ganja and Grigore Ciupricov, and flight attendant Petru Sarbu were buried at “Sfantul Lazar” cemetery in Chisinau. According to the same source, the ASAC investigation group, which probes into the Iraqi plane crash, did not provide any information about the causes of the tragedy. The Turkish authorities asked to join the investigation team and create a joint commission. The Moldovan crewmembers of the AN-26 aircraft lost their lives with other 29 passengers on board. The plane went down near an airport in Balad, north of Iraqi capital.
