Some 90% of the cases of blockage in sewerage networks are due to the fact that the persons throw solid or sharp things, paint, drugs, hygiene products, solid waste and other litter in the toilet. Such things are found by workers of SA “Apă-Canal Chisinau” during works to clear the blockage and to clean sewers, IPN reports.

The supplier notes that the consumers were for multiple times warned to obey the elementary norms of using the sewerage system, but the number of cases of blockage in sewerage networks goes up. As many as 4,019 such cases were recorded in the first half of this year, as opposed to 3,957 cases in the corresponding period last year.

According to ACC, the blockages hamper the flow of water and prevent the system from working at full capacity. The company makes considerable effort to clear the blockage in sewers, using important human and material resources.

In case of accidents, blockage in internal sewers, the persons should inform the manager of the apartment building or the local housing sector managing enterprise. In case of accidents, blockage in external sewers, one should call the Central Despatcher’s Service of SA “Apă-Canal Chisinau” on 022-25-66-66, 022- 85-77-77.
