The high winds and heavy rain last week downed about 80 trees in Chisinau. Five vehicles were damaged, IPN reports.

In the May 27 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, Eliferii Haruta, head of the municipal Green Areas Association, said the May 22 rain downed 46 trees and damaged three vehicles. On May 23, the rainstorm broke 26 trees and damaged another two cars, while on May 24 there were downed another 15 trees during the rain.

Eliferii Haruta said the company’s teams worked nonstop to collect the broken branches and trees. The branches continue to be gathered.
