Approximately 700 persons sell products directly in the street near the Central Market of Chisinau every day even if there are many free selling places inside the market.

Central Market acting director Veaceslav Balan Monday said they monitored the situation and determined that about 300 selling places in the food sector remain vacant daily. Another 230 places are free in the industrial goods sector.

According to Veaceslav Balan, trading at night is another problem. Farmers sell wholesale agricultural products on Varlaam St every evening. About 60 vehicles full with products are parked in the area.

The previous years, the municipality authorized street trading in national products near the Central Market at night. No such order has been made this year.
