34 Moldovan ambassadors and consuls convene in Chisinau
34 heads of Moldovan diplomatic and consular missions from around the world have come together in Chisinau. Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca stated that the convention aims to discuss achievements as well as challenges faced by the Moldovan embassies in promoting the interests of Moldovans abroad.
The convention, held during July 18-20, is an occasion for the diplomatic corps to interact with the central authorities and discuss best practices, existing problems, and solutions to improve the efficiency of the promoted policies.
The first day of the meeting will be dedicated to the results of consular activity and activities of supporting the Moldovan diaspora. Deputy Foreign Minister Natalia Gherman will moderate a session on the role of the diplomatic missions in promoting European Integration policies, and Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Carpov will present the progress achieved in the Transnistrian conflict settlement. The next two days will be dedicated to meetings between the heads of diplomatic missions and top government officials. On the last day the participants will also discuss the parliamentary dimension of Moldova's foreign policies. The convention will culminate with a roundup session.
While such conventions are ordinary events, this meeting is the first since Iurie Leanca's appointment as Foreign Minister.
