This year was declared the Year of Mihai Grecu, IPN reports, quoting a Cabinet decision.

Such a decision was taken in connection with the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great plastic artist, this being also a proof of appreciation of his remarkable contribution to developing modern arts in Moldova.

Mihai Grecu’s work is recognized and appreciated. His paintings are kept in prestigious galleries and museums and are mentioned in specialty magazines in a number of countries.

Mihai Grecu is considered an innovator and a complex personality who revolutionized plastic arts in Moldova. His paintings hold interest owing also to the information technology used to make them. Some of his paintings form part of the golden collection of the Moldovan painting.
