2 inmates attempted to escape these days from the penitentiary located in Braniste village, Orhei raion. Their attempt was unsuccessful, both being shot in the legs by sentinels. According to the General Prosecution Office, the attempt was disclosed on the night of October 11-12. The 2 convicts tried to escape ignoring the summons of the sentinels, so that they used their guns and shot them in the legs. Both convicts were provided first medical aid and later they were escorted to the 16th penitentiary from Pruncul. One of the prisoners is 19 and was condemned last year to 7 years of imprisonment. The other one, aged 24 was condemned in 2004 to 10 years of detention. The Prosecution of Orhei raion started penal investigations on escape attempt.
