The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) will monitor 14 TV channels during the campaign prior to the October 30 presidential elections, IPN reports.
According to the BCC chairman Dinu Ciocan, the news bulletins of the following TV channels will be monitored between September 30 and October 30 inclusive: Moldova 1, Prime, Canal 3, Canal 2, Publika TV, TV7, Accent TV, Pro TV, Jurnal TV, N4, Realitatea TV, Ren Moldova, NTV Moldova, and RTR Moldova.
TV Monitoring Division head Elena Crasmaru said there were chosen the TV channels with the largest coverage in the country. Besides news bulletins, they will also monitor particular programs, if the BCC is notified of violations of the electoral legislation.
The BCC also agreed on the number of broadcasters that will cover the election campaign. These include 60 TV channels and 45 radio stations. 19 broadcasters will not become involved in this process.
In the same meeting, the Council approved two forms with information about the volume of electoral broadcast and dissemination of electoral education and voter informing video clips that the broadcasters will have to fill out and send to the BCC each Monday during the election campaign.
