All the internal customs posts will work uninterruptedly throughout the period of the Easter holidays and the mini-vacations of May 1 and May 9. These will work according to a program extended by two or three hours, depending on the number of crossings, IPN reports.
According to the Customs Service, decision makers of the Central Staff will also be on duty. They will travel to customs posts with heavier traffic to assist the inspectors in the actions taken to accelerate crossborder circulation.
To fluidize transfrontier traffic, the Customs Service increased the number of staff members and of pieces of control equipment. All the control lanes will be used, including those intended for the diplomatic corps and the counterflow lanes. The measures were agreed with the Border Police and the partner institutions from Romania and Ukraine so that the checkup formalities are swiftly performed on both sides of the border.
The mobile teams that ensure the second control line all over the country will step up their activity so as to prevent frauds.
