Expert of WatchDog community Sergiu Tofialt said there are suspicions that an intermediary bought the buses that were displayed in the central square of Chisinau and the difference in the purchase and selling prices was appropriated. In this regard, Sergiu Tofialt provided a number of arguments, the first being that the Republic of Moldova is mentioned nowhere on the website of ISUZU company whose inscription can be seen on the buses exhibited in Chisinau, IPN reports.

“The Turkish producer “Anadolu Isuzu” is specified. On this producer’s website, we cannot find information that the company that won the tender contest is an official dealer. So, the information is not confirmed on the producer’s website and we cannot say that this is true,” stated Sergiu Tofilat.

According to him, the situation created around the buses shows that when there is political will, the authorities manage to solve the problems very swiftly. The winner of the tender contest for purchasing buses is registered in Northern Cyprus, which is a separatist region. There was a very short period of time between the announcement of the tender contest and the appearance of the units of transport in Chisinau. Furthermore, these buses could be not new as the production years are 2017 and 2018, but the prices that are to be paid by the municipality are like for new units of transport. “Respectively, there are suspicions that this intermediary bought the buses at a low price and sold them to us as new, while the different remains in the accounts of the offshore company,” stated the expert.

Alexandru Mihailenco, a member of Freedom Moldova, said he is bewildered why a company specialized in IT supplies buses to Moldova given that these units of transport do not have smart display and do not go by themselves. There is no advanced technology in these buses. They have standard equipment and nothing special.

Journalist Igor Volniski said there are two questions to which the local authorities should give answers as to the location of the buses in the Great National Assembly Square: the financial component and the political-electoral component.

The contract for the purchase of the ISUZU buses exhibited in the central square of Chisinau will be signed on February 20 if the other participant in the tender contest does not file a challenge until then. The municipality of Chisinau will purchase 31 buses from “Unipay Danișmanlik Yazilim Teknolojileri” LTD, which is announced as the official dealer in Moldova of the Turkish plant “ISUZU”.
