As of February 1, 2019, the citizens will benefit from a number of free medicines. The relevant decision was published in the Official Gazette on January 29, IPN reports.

“I’m glad that practically each person in the Republic of Moldova will benefit from free medicines, namely about 148 international common names of drugs.,” Prime Minister Pavel Filip stated in the January 30 meeting of the Cabinet.

The Premier requested the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection to ensure active communication and to disseminate more information on the issue so that the citizens know how they can benefit from gratis medicines.

Pavel Filip said the government during the past three years managed to extend twice the list of compensated drugs. Also, the children will be issued with medicines free of charge up to the age of 18, as against seven earlier.
