Two cars from the official column of the President of Moldova Igor Dodon were involved in an accident on the Strășeni-Călărași road on September 9, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, President Igor Dodon and some of the members of his family were in one of the cars. As a result of the impact, the presidential car turned upside down.

Eyewitnesses said President Dodon was in the car together with his mother and one of his sons. Others said there was the President’s wife and one of their sons in the car. The presidential press service didn’t issue a press release.

In several hours of the accident, Igor Dodon wrote on a social networking site that everything was all right and neither he nor the members of his family suffered serious injuries.

Before the accident, the President took part in a service held at the Saint Hierarch Nicolae Church in Basarabeasca town. This was held by Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and All Moldova Vladimir.
