The Cabinet on February 14 approved a bill to amend and supplement the Law on Water in a move to adjust the national legislation to the Community acquis, IPN reports.
According to the bill, a comprehensive analysis of protected areas will be carried out so as to contribute to the more efficient planning and implementation of measures to protect and improve the quality of water.
There will be created the Register of Protected Areas for hydrographic basins that will include drinking water collection areas, habitat protection areas and sensitive sectors.
The bill is to be examined and adopted by Parliament.
