The Cabinet decided to open negotiations on an agreement between the Governments of Moldova and Romania on the development of the relations of cooperation in the prevention and fighting of corrupt practices and other related offenses, IPN reports.
The sides aim to intensify the exchange of experts with a view to implementing the best corruption fighting practices and the exchange of operational data needed to identify cases of corruption. The number of common investigation teams will be increased and international and European organizations will be attracted to support the corruption fighting activities.
Currently, the Republic of Moldova and Romania cooperate in this field based on the trilateral agreement between the Governments of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine on cooperation in crime fighting that was signed in Kyiv on July 6, 1999.
