Minister of Education Corina Fusu made an order by which the orthographical norms of writing “â” (pronounced like in the word GrecheanYi) and “sunt” (I ‘am’, not ‘synt’ as earlier) became mandatory for the national education institutions. In a press release, the Ministry of Education says the order was signed with the aim of ensuring compliance with the decision of the Supreme Council for Science and Technological Development of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, IPN reports.
The order provides that the textbooks, methodological guidebooks, teaching aids and other educational resources will be designed/printed by taking into account the orthographical norms of writing “â” and “sunt” in the Romanian language.
The order takes effect when it is signed.
